The Cyclone Kid
An engaging story of a kid becoming a man through some unlikely circumstances. Relatable characters and storyline with enough twists and turns to keep you wondering what is coming next. Little nuggets of truth are sprinkled throughout, bringing depth to the book.

From the mind of a bounty hunter, metal. detectorist, and local history buff, comes a thoroughly engaging yarn, where the author expounds on his personal exeriences and hobbies to flesh out engaging characters that most folk, even flatlanders, will find feelings for. The characters are not perfect, theyre human, with feelings and flaws. The flaws is what makes the characters relatable, I found myself even loving and hating certain aspects if these people, making the book something I felt compelled to fully take in only to start it back over again.
Take a flight to Denver and a long damn drive deep into the Rocky Mountains and get ready to try to earn a living at 11,000 ft above sea level in the Cyclone Kid. Set in the modern day, the book makes you feel like your in the Colorado Rockies, where the world feels older and more wild.
Told from multiple perspectives, the reader will identify this book as a coming of age tale. Bouncing between an old man struggling to trying to show a boy how to be a man, with no clue how to do it. To the boy struggling to adjust to living in an alien environment under the care of an abrasive old man.
Sprinkled with foreshadowing, I still found it hard to put this story down. I thought I had guessed the general outcome, and found this books ending to be very satisfying as my predictions were wrong! Excellent read! Solid ending with enough meat left for a possible follow on.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent read

I liked the characters. They are identifiable. I wish I could live up in the mountains with the main characters. I would love to have the Dr. and his wife taking care of me. There is a depth to the people in this book. Can't believe this is the authors first book.
